                             Africa’s underprivileged children...

Where does your money go?

Where exactly does your money get used?

We do not give money directly to the school but instead to external food, fruit and stationary suppliers who deliver the items and educational materials directly to the school each month. These suppliers provide us with documentation of the delivery and we keep in regular contact with the school to ensure the required supplies arrive correctly. We hope the way in which this scheme is set-up allows donors to feel comfortable that their money is going to the right place and directly to the cause.

Our finances...

Our charities finances are very transparent so if you have any questions about how your donations are being distributed please do not hesitate to get in touch. Our accounts are in the process of being audited, so in the meantime please click below to view a summary of how much we have raised and how much we have spent on our project.

Exactly how much money goes to the cause?

Over 95% of the donations received are used for the food supplies and educational materials. Just under 5% of donations are used for admin costs which include bank transfer charges to Kenya, online donation set-ups etc.

NO donations are used in wages or expenses. Nia Children’s Foundation has NO paid staff, the charity is run by volunteers.

What makes us different?

There are three main factors which makes us different to any other charity...

  1. Managed by dedicated founders/volunteers – The beauty about this charity is that it is run by a small number of committed volunteers who have worked tirelessly to grow its support base whilst also holding down full-time jobs. Nia is run by volunteers who are extremely passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children in Africa.
  2. You know exactly where your money is going - Africa is unfortunately a place of much corruption so it’s important that donations are handled safely and not misused. The tree structure above allows donors to feel comfortable that their money goes directly to the paying for the food supplies and educational materials.
  3. Transparent finances - Some charities dont clearly state exactly how much money goes to the cause and how much is spent in admin/costs. From the above diagram you can clearly see how much of your money goes towards the cause and you can ask to see our finances at any time.
