Our first newsletter article to promote our 'Schools Scheme'...

Pupil Voice & Participation England (PVPE) is a new national organisation for school councils to provide them with training, help and support. They recently published their first newsletter which is distributed to every school council in UK and generously gave us a full page article to share our charities story.

We have been trying to start a ‘Schools Scheme’ to educate children in the UK about the lives of children in Africa and get schools involved in fundraising so hopefully this article will stir up some interest.

Click here to view this article.

Further details of PVPE’s and Nia’s partnership will be published on www.pvpengland.org.uk

A huge step in improving the health of our children...

I have recently been working with Wanjis Food Industries who produce special porridge and maize mixes which are rich in vitamins and nutrients essential for the health of our children. This is a vital step in ensuring that not only are we feeding these children, but feeding them food filled with vitamins and minerals which will improve their health.

Click here for more details on Wanjis.

I would especially like to thank my family for all their guidance and encouragement and most of all a massive thanks to Gilani's Supermarket. If it was not for their generous support in providing food supplies, this charity would not be where it is now.

Kenya trip... the kids have grown soooooooooo much!

I recently visited Kenya to see the children at St Monica’s School... They have all grown sooooooooooo much and are mischievous as ever! The food we have been providing them with is having a huge impact on their health. They are more active and energetic in class and are able to focus and concentrate better.

The school has undergone many changes, one of which is relocating to a larger building with three separate classrooms. The number of children has increased to 76 and we have two new teachers; Rosemary and Paul who are doing an excellent job.

The next step for this St. Monica’s School is to provide them with enough desks and chairs for the children to study on.

January food shipment AND 2010 plan...

The children are back in school and so the January shipment of food has been sent this week. We sent a photographer on this shipment who took some great pictures. Click here to view images.

A brief plan for 2010:

  • I will be taking the huge step of registering this project as an official UK charity which should be completed mid 2010.
  • The 300ft Bungee Jump in February at which we hope to raise £3,000.
  • The car boot sale which had to be continuously postponed due to the snow will hopefully take place in the next month or so.
Thank you for all your support and trust you have put in me. This project would never have got off the ground without your help. I hope you will be supporting this project in the near future.

The children have written some letters and drawn some pictures for all our donors... Click here to view images
