2nd Annual 'Nia Champions League' Football Tournament
Which team deserves to be crowned the official Nia Champions...

This year's tournament was yet another fantastic event with 20 teams going head to head on Sunday 26th June at the Hive Football Centre. It felt like the hottest day of the year with the sun blazing and many of us getting sun burnt! Although the heat was intense, our teams didn't let this effect their performance and fought until the end. Tottenham legend Peter Shreeves and Mill-wall Winger Terry McQuade were our top refs on the day and gave the players a few tips on how to improve their game.

We raised an amazing £2,239 which will help us to take on our second school to feed and educate a further 100 children by the end of this year.

The Harrow Times newspaper released two articles about the event. Please click here and here to view them.

Thank you to all the players, volunteers and supporters who took part.

Mount Kilimanjaro Adventure
Climbing the tallest mountain in Africa...

A bunch of ‘adrenaline junkie’ Nia supporters climbed Africa’s tallest mountain on Saturday 9th October to raise much needed funds for the children’s food supplies.

Mount Kilimanjaro facts:
- It is situated inside the Kilimanjaro National Park in Tanzania
- Consists of three volcanic cones; Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira
- It is the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world
- It is 19,340 feet high
- You go through 5 different climatic zones to reach the summit
- The summit is called Uhuru Peak which in English means 'Freedom'.
- On Uhuru Peak there is a wooden box containing a book in which almost every individual to reach the summit has recorded their impressions of the world from the highest point on the African continent.

Thank you to all the generous donors for sponsoring our climbers and a HUGE thank you to our five brave climbers:

  1. Dina Patel
  2. Anita Patel
  3. Orion Rodriguez
